Open Wide Our Hearts – Sept. 9, 2020
The tragic death of George Floyd has ignited a public conversation about ongoing racial inequity and injustice in America. How can the Church uphold the dignity of all human persons and foster the common good during these contentious times? What issues do we need to address with our own Church that prevent an appropriate response?
The Minnesota Catholic Conference, the public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Minnesota, is hosting a forum on the memorial of St. Peter Claver to provide an opportunity for formation and reflection on these critical issues in our community, and how we as a Church can respond.
The Zoom webinar is from 10 a.m. – noon on Wed., Sept. 9, with a panel discussion and Q&A. It is free, and registration is required. For more details and to register, go to www.mncatholic.org/openwideourhearts
Habitat for Humanity – Sept. 10, 2020
Parishioners – and their family members and friends – are invited to sign up for a volunteer work shift for Habitat for Humanity (HFH). Habitat is a non-profit organization dedicated to building affordable housing in communities around the world. Volunteers from our ACC parishes worked on Aug. 27 for the Faith Build home in east St. Cloud. Our parish coordinators have committed to two additional work days for our parishes – Sept. 10 and Oct. 1. Each date offers a morning shift from 8 a.m. – 12 noon; and an afternoon shift from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. You can sign up for one or both shifts on a given day and we will schedule up to eight persons per shift. Contact Kris Boyle at 320/248-8719 or Rose Blesener at 320/251-3901 to volunteer. For more details, go to www.cmhfh.org
