Faith Formation

Educational Opportunities with Our Community

Churches of St. Peter, Paul, Michael and Joseph provide opportunities for lifelong faith development. Our joint Faith Formation process ensures that Faith Formation programs witness to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and that catechesis is offered and available to all adults, young people, and children.

Lectio Divina Summer Study

St. Joseph offers a 10-12 week Lectio Divina study during the summer. The practice of Lectio Divina begins with a time of relaxation, making oneself comfortable and clearing the mind of mundane thoughts and cares. It is a time to read and reflect on the scripture reading, and then reflect on the scripture which spoke to you the most, respond by opening your heart to God and listen to the scripture and seeing how God is speaking to you.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Wednesday Evenings)

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a program of faith formation based on the work Dr. Sofia Cavalletti, a Biblical scholar trained in Catholic theology, and Gianna Gobbi, a Montessori educator. As with other Montessori education settings, the child in CGS leads their own discovery in faith. The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori School in Ohio has a helpful explanation of CGS on their website. Consider also going over to YouTube and watching some video clips about the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd model of faith formation. Twenty students will be admitted into our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Classrooms on a first-come-first-served basis. CGS classes will run from 6:15-7:45 pm on Wednesday nights.
